Workplace Services Manager (Japanese, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in facility management and service in facilities, hospitality, corporate services, property management or equivalent office management experience within an organization.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and managing budgets along with excellent financial management and purchasing skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and to collaborate with other business units to meet company goals and standards, along with excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage resources and projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and staff, timelines, important organizational implications, and circumstances.
  • Ability to engage and present in front of large crowds.
  • Ability to travel across the offices in the region as needed.

The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team creates inspiring spaces and innovative services that bring Google’s culture and values to life. We build and maintain all aspects of what keeps our Googley workspaces operating seamlessly across multiple cities and regions globally. We also manage the industry-leading services that help make Google a great place to work -- from how we design healthy and collaborative workspaces, create energizing food experiences, provide convenient transportation and fitness options, to delivering environments where Google and our employees can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in the facilities management or operations field driving outcomes that have an impact for the entire site/function and Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS). Provide an excellent experience, understand Googlers needs and deliver the solutions.
  • Be a trusted partner, building the relationships with business leaders and external partners to enhance the employee experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute regional initiatives and programs, providing input for real-estate decisions.
  • Utilize knowledge of environmental and government regulations to ensure compliance and understand industry trends.
  • Oversee vendor operations and management, providing direction and leadership to the Workplace Services and facilities teams.
  • Lead pivotal operations including new office builds, expansions, capacity and space planning, and implementation of new processes and procedures.
